
Attica Zoological Park
The Attica Zoological Park is the only zoological park in Greece today, hosting hundreds of thousands of visitors of all ages, from all over the country, every day.
Students will take part in a unique journey to the five continents, having the opportunity to get to know more than 2,000 animals from 400 species hosted in the facilities of the Attica Zoological Park, which has an area exceeding 49 acres.

National Observatory
The programme takes place at the Penteli Visitor Centre of the National Observatory of Athens.
Students will take part in an interactive/participatory programme dedicated to the Sun, its activity and its relationship with our planet. The historic NEWALL telescope (built in 1869) is on display and, weather permitting, a live solar observation will be carried out using a special telescope. Alternatively, children can watch a 20′ educational film on astronomy. The visit will last approximately 90′ in total.

Athens International Children’s Film Festival
The Athens International Children’s Film Festival invites children and teenagers to discover short films and feature-length movies, animation and live action films from all over the world, in their pan-Hellenic premieres. The world cinema for children and adolescents has its own unique celebration in Athens.

The Athens International Children’s Film Festival selected and curated thematic programs featuring premiere short and feature-length films. A discussion follows where students discover filmmaking techniques and delve into narrative methods, while simultaneously developing their critical thinking through the reading and understanding of audiovisual media.

“Fingerprints” educational programme
The “Fingerprints” educational programme consists of Interactive Workshops (educational – artistic – athletic), where young people with and without disabilities participate together, from primary and secondary education schools, special schools and social institutions.
Indicative description of the programme & the workshops
The programme will be implemented on Wednesday, 27 November 2024 at the Vorres Museum (Paiania, Attica) during school hours (9:15-12:30).
Participants should bring their school supplies and they must be accompanied by their teachers and social workers.
The SKEP team will coordinate the activities (they are all carried out simultaneously), making sure that participants will mingle smoothly, getting to know each other through the creative process.
– Interactive Artistic Workshops: t-shirt painting
– Athletic Workshop: Playing Bocce all together
– “STEPS by SKEP”: Be the catalyst for social change – Open discussions by SKEP’s motivational speakers with disabilities, with the aim of helping students discover the daily limitations that people with disabilities have to face, as well as the existing solutions.
– “Labyrinth of Senses”: To cross the Labyrinth, participants will use touch, hearing, smell and sight as tools for a journey using a different perception and way of thinking.

Back to Nature
Farm Visit
The program takes place at a 45-acre multifunctional farm in Megara, Attica, organized by the environmental team of Agále.
Students will have the opportunity to connect with nature, farmers, and agricultural production through numerous hands-on environmental activities, including guided tours of the farm’s plantations and animals, creating seasonal vegetable gardens, identifying herbs, composting, and building a worm farm.
Additionally, students will participate in a beekeeping and honey-tasting workshop, where they will learn all about bee society, beekeeping equipment, and bee products. They will also observe a transparent enclosed hive with bees, gaining an understanding of their vital role in the ecosystem.
All activities are conducted by agronomists and beekeepers and include souvenirs for each student. The duration of the activities is 1.5 to 2 hours, with the option to relax at the farm afterward.
The minimum number of students required for the visit is 40.

Center of the Earth
Children’s minds, emotions, and skills flourish in the ideal environment of an organic farm.
The “Center of the Earth” is located within the privately owned “Pyrgos Vassilissis Vineyards”, next to Antonis Tritsis Metropolitan Park, just 5 km from the center of Athens. It has been recognized as the best global initiative for connecting people with nature by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).

An interactive workshop that combines history, nature, tradition, and sustainable practices.

This program helps students connect environmental protection with growing and consuming healthy, organic, local, and seasonal foods.
