Antigoni’s Drisbioti hard work once again paid off. One year after her “magical” 2022, where she secured two gold medals in the European Athletics Championships in Munich in the 20 km and 35 km race walk events, vindication came for her in this year’s World Championships as well.

In the 35 km race in Budapest, the 39-year-old Thessalian fulfilled her dream of being on the podium again, claiming the 3rd place and the bronze medal. The Greek athlete completed the race in 2:43:22, behind the Spanish Maria Perez and Peruvian Kimberly Garcia who claimed gold and silver medals respectively. With this huge success, she certified her position in the elite of women’s race walking, not to mention that it was the first medal ever for our country in race walking at a world championship level.

Through the personal achievement of the Greek race walker, Greek athletics has made another step forward, with the country emerging again as a powerhouse, a result of the persistent and collective endeavors made over the years.

With Stoiximan’s continued support in athletics, big results have recently multiplied at major stages, such as the Olympics and World Championships.
