Katerina Stefanidis
BIOGRAPHY
Katerina Stefanidi was born in February 1990.
She is a pole vaulter and one of the greatest female athletes of Greek sports. She lives in the USA, where she is currently working towards a PhD, at the University of Arizona. She believes that a champion makes choices, not sacrifices.
Katerina Stefanidi took part in the 2012 London Olympics and 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics, winning throughout her career more than 7 medals and obtaining more than 12 athletic achievements. In February 2016, she set a national record with her 4.90m jump at the Millrose Games, in New York.
At the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, she won a gold medal and became an Olympic champion with a jump of 4.85 m. It was the first medal for Greece in pole vaulting.
