The national women’s team has had a notable presence on the world stage in recent years. Winning the silver medal at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games as well as the gold medal at the 2011 World Aquatics Championship with a 9-8 victory over host China in the final marked her establishment as a force to be reckoned with in international water polo.

The great successes of recent years also include the Gold medal in the World League in 2005, the Bronze medals in the same event in the years 2007, 2010 and 2012, as well as the 4 Silver Medals in the European championships in the years 2010, 2012, 2018 and 2022.

In 2024 the National Women’s Polo Team at the European Championships in Eindhoven managed to win the Bronze Medal and automatically secured their participation in the Olympic Games in Paris in the summer of 2024.
