On Saturday, December 20, during the Olympiacos vs. Kifisia match at Karaiskakis Stadium, Olympiacos F.C., in collaboration with its major sponsor Stoiximan, delivered for the second year a dedicated initiative focused on acceptance and equal participation.
The initiative, co-designed and implemented with TheHappyAct, an organization with extensive experience in supporting neurodivergent individuals, centered on creating a safe, welcoming, and accessible environment within the stadium. The Stoiximan Suite was configured as a sensory-friendly space, hosting neurodivergent guests so they could enjoy the match experience in comfort and safety.
A football match involves intense stimuli, including noise, lighting, and large crowds. For many, these define the atmosphere. For individuals with sensory processing challenges, they can limit participation. The initiative addressed sensory accessibility through targeted interventions and tailored support based on guests’ needs.
Measures included noise-cancelling headphones, adjustable lighting, sensory regulation equipment, and the presence of trained staff to support the experience and reinforce a sense of safety and familiarity.
A key moment was the visit to the suite by Olympiacos goalkeeper Alexandros Paschalakis, Strategic Advisor and Club Ambassador Christian Karembeu, and women’s team players Konstantina Mylona and Maria Sofia Mougiou. They spent time with the guests, creating a warm and human experience that highlighted inclusion through simple, meaningful moments.
Guests also had the opportunity to step onto the field alongside Christian Karembeu and Stoiximan Commercial Director Kostas Diorelis, experiencing a moment that is not always accessible to many families. In a symbolic gesture, with the use of specialized headphones to better manage noise, the stadium embraced the message of the initiative, reinforcing that participation becomes real when barriers are removed.
Through this initiative, Olympiacos and Stoiximan re-emphasised that in the stadium, as in life, there is a place for everyone in the game.
