With a career spanning more than 20 years and participation in <\/span><b>five Olympic Games (2000\u20132016)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, his defining moment came at the <\/span><b>Rio 2016 Olympic Games<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, where he won the <\/span><b>silver medal<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the <\/span><b>10km marathon swim<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He is a <\/span><b>two-time World Champion<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the 10km event (Shanghai 2011, Barcelona 2013), a multiple medalist at World and European Championships, and was named <\/span><b>World Marathon Swimming Athlete of the Year<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in 2011.
